Revenge of Debris
Revenge of Debris (1988) takes place at a time (possibly the future) when the entire landscape has been covered over with garbage, altering and displacing any traditional view of nature. The world is inhabited only by man and billions of new bacteria and sub-microscopic life forms that together make up a perverse but functioning ecosystem. Concurrently, the simulated reality of computer-generated spaces has become the dominant force of the imagination, creating and partitioning new categories of human thought. While an unnamed and somewhat schizophrenic "character" dreams his way through these perfectly gridded and malleable spaces, bacterial growth and tampering causes the world's garbage to develop into a vast and malicious entity bent on revenge. Visceral stereoscopic images of trash intermingle with wholly fabricated 3D computer graphics.
